Why have Microsoft Increasing Their Prices?

Since the launch of Office 365 over 10 years ago, Microsoft has added 24 apps to the suites -Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Stream, Planner, Visio, OneDrive, Yammer and Whiteboard - and have released more than 1,400 new features and capabilities across their range of offerings.

Alongside the announcement of a pricing update, Microsoft also announced extended audio conferencing capabilities by adding unlimited dial-in capabilities for Microsoft Teams meetings.

Taking these facts into account, it is understandable why they have decided to update the current pricing structure. Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience will soon increase the prices of the following 365 SKUs:

Office 365 E1

Office 365 E3

Office 365 E5

Microsoft 365 E3

Microsoft 365 Business Basic

Microsoft 365 Business Premium

What are the specific price changes?

The new price increases for the different effected plans range from 8.6% up to 25%.

These pricing updates will not come into effect until 1st March 2022.

Please be advised that these prices are in USD as any global prices have not yet been released, however, Microsoft has announced that these increases will apply globally with local market adjustments for certain regions.
